Photogalvanic Effect in Victoria Blue R- Ascorbic acid- NaLS System- Conversion of Solar Energy into Electrical energy
Devender Singh, Kewal Singh

A Photosensitizer-Victoria Blue R, a reductant-Ascorbic acid and a surfact- Sodium lauryl sulphate (NaLS) have been used in the photogalvanic cell for photochemical conversion of solar energy conversion of solar energy into electrical energy into electrical energy. The photopotential, photocurrent, conversion efficiency, fill factor and the cell performance were observed as 815, 360, 1.0614%, 0.2934 and 140.0 min in dark respectively. The effect of different parameters on the electrical output of the cell was observed and current- voltage (i-V) characteristics of the cell were also studied.
Keywords: Victoria Blue R (VBR), Ascorbic acid, Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (NaLS), Photogalvanic effect, fill factor, conversion efficiency.
