Oral Lichen Planus: Two Case Reports with Treatment and Follow-Up

Lichen planus is a persistent mucocutaneous condition of unclear origin.Histopathological aspects of a subepithelial band-formed infiltration dominated by T cells indicates the possibility of an autoimmune diagnosis. Since the aetiology is unknown, all current treatment options aim to reduce or eliminate symptoms. Several topical medications are recommended, including topical steroids, which are widely used and acknowledged as the primary therapy of choice. Here we present a case about of a 35 year old female reported with burning sensation and managed with topical and systemic steroids added with multivitamins with in a span of one month and achieved better results and a case of a 34 year old male who was treated with intralesional injections for 3 weeks in addition with topical and systemic steroids and achieved a better outcome.
